Event description

Description

Bored of tapping away on your phone every day?

Why not come and learn a new hands on craft skill? Paper cutting is a great way to switch off, relax and meet new friends... and walk away with a special and unique creation of your own (or to give to someone you love).

This course is run all day on Sept 14th from 10am to 4.30pm.

This workshop is ideal for beginners / intermediate, who are interested in learning how to do 3D paper modelling. Papercutting is a fast growing trend and a great way of creating designs to brighten up your home, create decorations for special occasions such as Christmas and weddings, or make personal gifts for friends and family.

During this six and half hour workshop you will learn how to do a 3D scene from paper from existing templates that I'll provide. You will learn various techniques which I'll talk you through step by step, and you will be encouraged to experiment with colours and textures using a selection of papers to create your piece. You will create your own artwork which you can then take home with you.

Your work can then be mounted into a frame box or glass dome and given as a present, or displayed in your own home. You will also learn how to create your own designs for future artworks.

All materials will be provided and you will get to go home with one small but wonderful artwork ready to put into a bell jar or hang on your wall. Classes are limited to 6 spaces so please be quick if you would like to book.

I've been a papercutter for 8 years, and have published in several books about Papercutting and produced several paper illustration for publications. I'm an illustrator and graphic designer, papercutter and very experienced teacher, excited to pass on these skills to other makers.

Ticket price includes:

- 6 and half hours of 3D modelling teaching from Artist Silvina De Vita.
- All materials
- Tea, coffee, biscuits and cake (please inform us of any dietary requirements in advance)

Frame or glass dome is extra if you want one or you can bring your own.
