Event description

Description

This symposium brings together UCL’s community who use computational science in their research. It is open to researchers from all faculties.

The aspiration to address more complex problems, combining different methodologies, new computational architectures, and changing research policy and funding landscape will influence how computational science will develop in the 21st Century. Discover UCL’s distinctive multidisciplinary expertise and interactive discussion sessions with our speakers and panels to explore the future of computational sciences by:

  • Solving problems through interdisciplinary collaborations
  • Using Machine Learning with High Performance Computing
  • Harnessing new computational architectures and infrastructure
  • Generating impact from computational models beyond academia
  • Understanding research funding and policy landscape

Join us to:

  • Learn from colleagues who apply computational sciences across a wide range of discipline
  • Discuss the latest developments and opportunities in infrastructure for computational sciences
  • Build your UCL network and meet potential collaborators
  • Hear "Computational Model Showcase" talks from early career researchers
  • Hear the “Dive into Data Challenge” finalists pitch for their prize

Call for Abstracts: Posters and Short Talks - Now closed

Do you use computational sciences in your research? Do you want to take part in our ‘Computational Model Showcase’? If so, we would like to invite you to submit an abstract for poster presentation and short talk

Please submit your abstract online explaining your research, which has involved computational science approaches, and either how you have overcome a particular challenge or your views on how computational sciences will develop in the 21st Century. We particularly welcome submissions from Early Career Researchers and PhD students from all UCL faculties. Your abstract, poster or talk should be accessible for those who are not subject matter experts.

The deadline for submissions is Friday 17 May 2019, 10:00. Abstracts will only be considered if the presenter is registered to attend this symposium.

*Please note, these poster and short talk sessions are unrelated to the Dive into Data Challenge (which you may come across in registration form. Please select Yes only if you have previsouly submitted an expression of interests form on 18 January) and will have a separate session!
