Mindfulness in Schools: a Political Agenda
We are delighted to announce that our keynote speaker will be Jon Kabat-Zinn, the originator of secular mindfulness programmes, who will present his inspirational vision of mindfulness in education. He will also explain why he has taken such a keen interest in the development of the Mindfulness in Schools Project's .b curriculum. The afternoon will include a rare opportunity to work with Jon as he leads mindfulness practices, shares personal insights into the art of teaching mindfulness, and answers questions from the floor.
There will also be presentations from Professor Willem Kuyken of the Mood Disorder Clinic, University of Exeter, on current research into the effectiveness and benefits for students of participating in the .b programme and from Sarah Silverton of the Centre for Mindfulness Research & Practice, Bangor University, who is developing a primary school version of .b with teachers in North Wales.
This conference will be suitable for anyone interested in the wellbeing of young people and the role of mindfulness in promoting this, e.g. school teachers, parents, mindfulness teachers, school counsellors and psychologists working with children and adolescents.
Tickets are £110.00, plus Eventbrite's handling fee of £6.29. Lunch is not included. Please note that tickets are non-refundable. If you require further information on the programme, please email email@example.com.
We look forward to sharing this special day with you!
Many thanks, the MiSP team.
