🌞 UDM Summertime Holiday Edutainment Programme 2025
🗓️ Dates: Monday 4th – Thursday 7th August 2025
📍 Leeds Caribbean & African Centre
⏰ 10am – 3pm daily | Ages 8+ | £14 per day or £42 for all 4 days
During this vibrant 4-day holiday programme, young people will explore their heritage, learn about goal setting and financial literacy, and engage in creative and hands-on workshops including natural product making and arts & crafts.
Led by experienced facilitators, these student-led sessions are designed to be fun, engaging, and empowering, all while upholding high standards of performance and personal growth.
Monday 4th August 2025
🎋 Young People’s DIY Natural Body Products WorkshopYoung people will learn to make three all-natural, vegan-friendly products:
- 🌿 Perfume with Essential Oils
- 🧴 Whipped Body Butter
- 🚿 Natural Body Wash
With step-by-step guidance, children will learn about ingredients, equipment, and safety, gaining a fun and practical introduction to creating their own natural self-care products in a relaxed and encouraging setting.
Tuesday 5th August 2025
🎨 Young People’s Arts & Crafts WorkshopThis workshop is all about creativity and hands-on learning. Young people will explore the art of crochet, a timeless and versatile skill for making unique handmade items. A second activity will be confirmed closer to the date.
Participants will enjoy expressing themselves artistically in a calm, social, and supportive environment.
Wednesday 6th August 2025
🌟 Inspiring Our Young People for Success WorkshopThis powerful day will focus on:
- 🎯 Goal setting and vision board creation
- 📸 Customising personal vision boards with images, affirmations, and quotes
- 💻 Using mobile devices to research and design their future goals
- 💸 A fun and simple introduction to personal finance and budgeting
Young people will leave with a clearer picture of their aspirations and the tools to work towards them.
Thursday 7th August 2025
📚 Young People’s Black History WorkshopYoung people will explore:
- 🌍 The presence and influence of Black people in Britain and globally
- 🧠 Critical thinking about their own heritage before enslavement
- 💬 Confidence in discussing identity, culture, and pride
This session provides a refreshed perspective on Black history, encouraging lifelong learning, cultural awareness, and self-confidence.

A: Yes, From 8 - 14 years old
