Llanhennock Lodge is a Care home managed by Leonard Cheshire Disability which is a not for profit organisation. The home is registered to provide support for up to 34 physicallydisabled people over the age of 18 years, requiring nursing or persoal care needs.
Llanhennock Lodge have large outdoor gardens and grounds which are enjoyed by the residents for outdoor activities and relaxation. It would be very beneficial to enhance the garden area making it more attractive and accessible. This would include garden maintenance, clearing vegetation, tidying existing beds, pruning, painting railings, building some basic raised beds and staining benches etc.
There is also an activity room which is regularly used by the residents for fun and development activities. The room is rather drab and could do with some TLC and brightening up. This would include painting the walls in more attractive colours would make a huge difference together with restaining the floor.
Clothing to wear: Robust outdoor clothing and shoes. Suitable and appropriate clothing for DIY activities. Volunteers will be required to carry out basic gardening and DIY activities to include, cutting back vegetation, pruning, clearing areas, building raised beds, painting etc. Materials: Llanhennock Lodge have a dedicated Volunteer co-ordinator who can support the planning, delivery etc. The facility have some materials but volunteers would need to raise some funds for paints, brushes rollers, wood for raised beds etc. The volunteers would also need to provide their own tools for the gardening activities. Parking limited around the project so shared car/vehicles would be appropriate. Garden Project would need 15 to 20 volunteers. Activity room project 10 volunteers.
