4Skills | NFTS - Jackie Thornton: The Script Editor and Consultant
Overview
Welcome to Channel 4 and the National Film and Television School's booking page for an exciting week of online sessions that are all free and open to anyone to join. The theme of the week is Script to Screen. These exciting sessions will offer unique insights from a wide range of film & television experts, who will share their expertise and discuss the opportunities & challenges of bringing a script to screen.
You’ve written the script, so what happens next. Jackie Thornton has worked with many screenwriters, but what does she do? How do you work with a script editor in both development and production. What are script notes and script reports and how will be they benefit your writing. There will be a chance to ask Jackie questions at the end.
Jackie is a freelance script consultant and editor who’s worked with Sister, See-Saw, Netflix, BFI, Film Four and more. Recently she’s been working on book to screen adaptations including an Italian drama based on a true story. She works in a range of film and TV genres, collaborating closely with emerging and experienced writer/directors in helping them realise the best possible version of their stories for the screen.
All sessions will be hosted on Zoom. Please note, these are live sessions and will not be recorded.
