The 4th Estate Literary Salon is back! This time we’re looking at life crises which can rear their head at any time. For the brilliant journalist and broadcaster Miranda Sawyer, hers made its presence felt at the age of 44 and her fantastically well received book on the subject 'Out of Time' is Sawyer’s investigation of this most challenging of life moments, in which she describes not just her own experiences, but recounts the stories of many others who are navigating the choppy waters of their 40s and 50s. The Pool's, Marisa Bate, writes regularly about the millennial dilemma of a broken housing market, sky-high rents, internet anxiety, infertility scare-mongering and no pension to speak of. As financial security in the future has been written off as just a dream how can 20 and 30 somethings can make their way through these difficult times? Chaired by Will Smith, writer and star of Bafta-winning BBC comedy ‘The Thick of It’, and author of the novel Mainlander this promises to be poignant, insightful and a little bit funny too!
