Description

“Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, plead the widow's cause.” (Is 1:17)

Announcing the 4th International Symposium on Coptic Culture: Past, Present, and Future

Advocacy, Activism, and Freedom: Historical Perspectives

Social injustice plagues the human experience. Some of its more pervasive problems — poverty, oppression, exploitation, inequality — are deeply rooted problems that not only affect the Egyptian experience, but have global magnitude. Over the centuries and across cultures, individuals and groups have engaged in a variety of activities in an attempt to combat poverty, inequality, and other issues of social injustice. The Coptic Orthodox Church Center, U.K. is organizing an international symposium on Advocacy, Activism, and Freedom: Historical Perspectives from 29 June- 2 July 2017 in Stevenage, U.K. to highlight these efforts and contributions."
