About this event

This brilliant new beginners course is to help get you started on your pottery journey. Over 4 weeks you will be given an introduction to various pottery techniques including throwing on the wheel and hand building. Adults 18+ only.

• Over 3 weeks you will learn the basics of throwing & also looking at hand building techniques such as coiling & pinching.

• The 4th week will be taken up with glazing all your work.

• After this short course you can specialise and book onto our 8 week beginners throwing course (please note that you will not be able to go straight onto the beginners+/intermediate course).

• Alternatively, if you want to learn more about both the wheel and hand building working with specific projects and additional techniques, you can book onto our 10 week combined course to become a better all rounder.

Cost: £200 Prices include all materials and firings. No hidden extras. Everything you make will be fired.

Dates: Saturdays 2.30-4.45pm: October 4th, 11th & 18th + a glaze class on Saturday November 1st 2-4.45pm.

REFUNDS & DATE TRANSFERS: *Please note that if you cancel or request a date transfer 20 full working days (Monday to Friday) are required. After this period and before the course starts you will only get a 50% refund or transfer if someone else can be found to replace you. There are no refunds or transfers after the start of your course. Please note that all refunds are minus Eventbrite fees which are non-refundable. Cancellations may be subject to an admin fee of £50. Transfers are only possible to like for like courses and only if we have dates available.

Some classes are easier to miss than the others. If you do miss a session you may be able to do a catch up on a Saturday morning but please note that there is a charge of £60 for this. If you develop Covid, unfortunately we cannot make-up any classes free of charge.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS: If you have any medical conditions that may impede your learning such as back problems, problems with hands or knees, any sight issues or balance issues it's advisable that you let us know in advance, preferably before booking. Some conditions can make it difficult to do pottery. Where possible, we will trry and accommodate you as long as we have information beforehand however some conditions may void our insurance.

PREGNANCY: Please note that this course is not suitable for pregnant women as there are health implications to working on the wheel. If you do want to join the course and are pregnant you would only be able to do the handbuilding part of the course.

If you are found to have withheld information regarding a medical condition or pregnancy that could impact your ability to learn and our ability to teach you, you may be asked to leave the course with no refund.

GROUP BOOKING: please note, groups of 4 or more people will need to give 25 working days notice for refunds. We are unable to offer transfers to for group bookings.
