About this Event

5x15 returns to the Tabernacle for our March event with an outstanding line up of 5 speakers who each have 15 minutes to talk about their lives, work and passions.

Featuring the winner of the 2019 Costa Prize for Biography Bart van Es telling the story of The Cut Out Girl- an awe-inspiring account of the tragedies and triumphs of the Holocaust's 'hide-away' children, and of the families who sheltered them.

Professor Marcus du Sautoy, The Simonyi Professor for the Public Understanding of Science, on The Creativity Code: How AI is learning to write, paint and think. From the Turing test to AlphaGo, are there limits to what algorithms can achieve, or might they be able to perfectly mimic human creativity?

Josh Cohen, a psychoanalyst in private practice, and Professor of Modern Literary Theory at Goldsmiths University of London, makes a persuasive call for a re-evaluation of how we live our lives. How can we tackle the permanent busyness and blind activity that characterizes our working norms? What is the art of Not Working?
