Whether you’re a complete beginner who has never touched clay, or an experienced maker hoping to refine your skills, this 5-week hand-building ceramic course welcomes students of all levels.
Our sessions offer a systematic, comprehensive introduction to ceramics, while also helping you explore and develop your own unique creative style.
This is a cosy, relaxing, and fully guided course designed to help you understand pottery from the ground up — from working with raw clay to finishing glazed artworks you can proudly take home.

Perfect for anyone who wants to learn a new skill, enjoy a mindful craft activity, or create meaningful handmade pieces.
Week 1 — Introduction to Ceramics & Basic Technique
Learn basic ceramic knowledge: how clay and glazes react with fire, kneading methods, testing glazes and making slip.
Week 2 — Hand-Building Demonstration & Practice
Learn to make pinch bowls and small sculptures using hand-building techniques.
Week 3 — Coil Clay Technique & Sculpt Technique
Make vases, cups or sculptures using coil clay strips.
Refine the bowls made in Week 2 once they are half-dry.
Week 4 — Shaping with Slab
Learn slab-building to make vessels.
Explore surface decoration using various tools.
Week 5 — Sanding & Glazing Works
Smooth surfaces with sandpaper.
Paint using underglaze, apply glazes and experiment with finishing techniques.

Reservation Deposit — £10To secure your seat, we charge a £10 non-refundable reservation deposit.

- Will be deducted from your total course fee
- Is non-refundable unless the course is cancelled by the organiser
