Topic: Letter Writing to our younger selves
Date: Tuesday 23rd September, 2025
Time: 6 - 8pm
Where: Via Zoom
About this session
Join us to take part in a friendly workshop, where we will try to write a short affirming letter to our younger selves aged from 18 - 30 years old.
Get your pens, pencils, feltips and paper (or electronic devices) ready - you will have a chance to write freely without worrying about grammar or structure.
"We all carry memories of moments when we felt unseen, scared, joyful, or strong. This letter is a space to speak to that younger version of you — to affirm, soothe, or celebrate them."
Some prompts below:
What did your younger self need to hear?
What were you afraid of? What brought you hope?
What have you learned since then?
What would you thank your younger self for?
Who are you now that they would be proud of?
"Letters to Our Younger Selves" refers to letters written by an older self to their past self, offering advice, comfort, and perspective gained from life experiences. These letters often encourage qualities like self-care, the ability to embrace failure, confidence in one's unique path, and the understanding that life's challenges shape and strengthen them. They can serve as a powerful act of self-reflection, allowing individuals to acknowledge past hardships while finding peace and wisdom for the future.
