About this event

  • 2 hours

While rose has been a summer favourite for many years, it's safe to say that orange wine is now a bona fide category in its own right. But when it comes to the winemaking, these styles are not as different as they look; the main similarity being that they both spend time on their skins, certainly during fermentation, often beyond.

And its the length of time that ensures the variety these wines have to offer. A Provencal rose needs just a few hours' contact simply to impart that "onion-skin" colour we know and love, while at the other end of the scale a Georgian Amber wine could be buried in huge concrete eggs under the ground for months; skins, stalks and all, as a nod to how wine was enjoyed thousands of years ago.

But there are a myriad of styles in between that are made in a kaleidoscope of colours, textures and grip, some of which we'll be pouring tonight. Join us!

Our shop tastings start at 7.30pm and run for approximately one-and-a-half to two hours. We will taste 6-8 wines on a theme, and bread, cheese and charcuterie is provided to match with the wines. Due to the communal nature of the tasting, we are unable to cater for dietary requirements.
