EXHIBITION OF WOMEN'S LIBERATION MATERIAL

Special Meeting of the Feminist Libraries & Archive Network (FLA) and Film Screening

Please join us in the Flora Anderson Hall in Somerville College on Sunday 1st March for a celebratory exhibition of material from the early years of Women’s Liberation Movement.

The exhibition is open to all but please register for a free ticket to enable your entry to the college. We are very grateful to Somerville College for their support in holding this event.

Food will not be provided so please bring your own lunch. There are many cafes within close walking distance of the college.



SPECIAL MEETING OF THE FEMINIST LIBRARIES & ARCHIVE NETWORK (FLA) AND FILM SCREENING

Please join us for the following taking place alongside the exhibition:

11:30 – 12:30: a film screening of Sue Crockford’s ‘A Women’s Place’, a film about the first Women’s Liberation conference held in Ruskin College, Oxford in 1970 and the first Women's Liberation March. Also a screening of Chandan Fraser's photographs of the same events.

13:00 – 15:00: an open meeting of the FLA (Feminist and Women’s Libraries and Archives Network) with presentations from the following guest speakers: Barbara Winslow, an American feminist historian who was at the Ruskin conference in 1970; Bec Wonders, a founder of the Vancouver Feminist Library; and Melba Wilson, representing the Black Cultural Archives who was a member of the Brixton Black Women's Group and OWAAD. To be followed by presentations from FLA members from around the country.

15:30 – 16:45: an open meeting to discuss FLA business, which all are welcome to attend. Discussion topics will include: finances, interconnection between the FLA and HOWL, and how to structure our national network in a more dynamic way.

16:45 – 17:30: a second film screening of Sue Crockford’s ‘A Women’s Place’.
