Description

We would like to cordially invite you to attend the Industrial Engagement Event at University of Glasgow aimed at establishing collaborations around the emerging 5G use cases. The University of Glasgow’s campus expansion is Scotland’s largest urban development project with 5G related activities playing a key role in transforming the historic city quarter. We see this event as an opportunity to develop practical collaborations around 5G urban solutions informed by current policy and practice. You will have the chance to learn more about our ongoing research in the areas of low-cost self-organizing pop networks for disaster management; energy-aware algorithms for base station scheduling; how we are using block-chain technology to secure massive IoT systems;
how 5G antennas can be used to do passive radar monitoring and other more exciting research themes.



Purpose of the day:

The University of Glasgow’s campus expansion is Scotland’s largest urban development project and unique in its potential to transform a historic city quarter; demonstrating the emerging technologies required for attractive, sustainable, successful cities – The Smart Campus Communications infrastructure as a key part of this with the University engaged across a broad range of academic, industry and public policy networks to ensure this potential is realised. 5G could be a big deal for universities, as it could help not just with teaching and studying, but also research and innovation and therefore Communication Sensing and Imaging Group invites you to learn more about the ongoing 5G focused research here at University of Glasgow, that could open the door to wide range of new application and services. This half day event will be based around presentations, demonstrations and discussions on a range of 5G use cases in health, energy and security and how you could be part of the ongoing research activity at Communication, Sensing and Imaging Group.

List of Topics: Low-cost 5G enabled Self-Organizing Networks; Intelligent Mobility Management: Machine learning techniques for predictive handover mangement;On-demand energy efficient scheduling of base stations; A New protocol for blockchain enabled Massive IoT Systems; Desigining trusted IoT networks using Block Chain and RF identity profiles; Tight Loop Control (Low Latency/High Bandwidth) VR/AR enabled by 5G; URLLC Connectivity for Vital Signal Monitoring in Health-Centric Applications; Closed-loop Surveillance (Low Latency) using Non facial Video Analytics and RF Signatures
