About this Event

PARIS, 28.10.2020

The 5G MASTERCLASS is a workshop (chaired by Sadiq Malik) which is exploring views on what is 5G, its differentiation from 4G, the players, and why 5G is so important. 5G, the next generation of mobile technology, is expected to completely reshape entire industries, and cause a rethink regarding how we run our cities and manage critical national infrastructures. It will be far more capable and efficient than previous generations and will enable the real Internet of Things to emerge.

In one day, you will:

  • Understand the technical architecture, business models and societal impacts of 5G technology.

  • Operators will know how to leverage technology building blocks for fast rollout in profitable business segments.

  • Financial people will understand the essentials of the 5G business case modelling and Regulators will appreciate the impact of 5G on the digital economy.

  • Manufacturing managers will learn about how 5G Robotics will change industry as will Doctors realise their dream of virtual Tele surgery.

  • Software developers will be given fresh hope about new applications and content that will drive the space age economy.

And participants will be given an opportunity to contribute their perspectives on how 5G will transform lives in Europe.

5G is envisioned to be a unifying connectivity fabric that will connect virtually everything around us — from enabling enhanced mobile broadband services and mission-critical communications to connecting the massive Internet of Things — as well as support use cases not completely known today.

During this intensive Masterclass, you will learn about how Telcos might leverage technology parameters within the 5G standards and figure out how various stakeholders in the value chain where they can locate a valuable niche.

We will also examine the real experiences of Tier 1 Telcos as they rollout out 5G in S.Korea, USA, Schengen zone. What are the impediments, what the consumers expect and what might be blue ocean opportunities.
