Choose to run, walk or crawl 5 kilometres through the vines, fields and around the lake in the depths of the Nottinghamshire Countryside at Hanwell Wine Estate.

As well as water you’ll find a choice of local wines at the water station, there will be 2 visits to the water station. There’s free wine tasting at the finish line too!

Reward yourself afterwards with a light lunch, coffee and cake or simply a glass of wine at the Hanwell Café Bar which is open until 2pm.

Spectators and dogs on leads are very welcome.

Wine tasting is available for all participants and spectators free of charge, come and try wines made from grapes grown in Nottinghamshire.

We operate the “Challenge 25” policy so if you are lucky enough to look younger and want to try wines please bring appropriate ID.

Before race day, please print off and complete the consent form, this will be required at registration. Once completed, hand in at the registration desk on the day to collect your race wristband. Click –Runners Consent Form to download the form.

Set amongst the rolling countryside of South Nottinghamshire, the vines of Hanwell Wine Estate are being hand-tended to grow grapes for English Sparkling Wine.

 

Hanwell Wine Estate is open most weekends, be sure to check their website before travelling. You may wish to visit for a scheduled tour, these run February to September and include talk, tour and wine tasting lasting 2 hours, they’ve received fabulous reviews. Or if it needs to fit your schedule, what about a self-guided tour, following the vineyard trail? The coffee shop simply offers tea, coffee, cake and wine, has great views and a large terrace for a sunny day. As well as their own wines they sell local wines from vineyards in neighbouring counties as well as multi-international award winning wines made at their parent vineyard Eglantine. Alternatively plan a visit around one of their Rural Antics: art, craft and rural skills workshops, perfect “creative spa” days! Choose from Foraging, Bentwood Chair Making, Oil Painting, Embroidery, Stained Glass, Bobbin Lace, ... the list goes on.
