Description

The Postdoctoral Societies of the Cancer Research UK Beatson Institute and the University of Edinburgh, kindly invite you to the 5th Scottish Biomedical Postdoctoral Researcher Conference (SBPRC) on Friday 14th June 2019.

The SBPRC is a peer led joint venture to promote the excellent biomedical research undertaken by postdoctoral scientists across Scotland. This is a free one day event aimed at providing focused presentations to meet the needs of postdoctoral researchers and awareness of the scope of research taking place to promote new collaborations. Last year saw over 120 postdoctoral attendees from the Universities of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Dundee. This year's event is also open to all Univiersities/ Institutes and PhD students, we encourage final year PhD students to submit abstracts.

The conference will be held at the Sir Charles Wilson building at the University of Glasgow, and will include presentations from PhD students, postdoctoral fellows, scientific and career keynote lectures, speakers from alternative careers in science, as well as an afternoon and evening networking event.

Abstracts (for oral and poster presentations)

  • Deadline for submission - Sunday 19th May 2019

  • Method of submission - as an email attachment in Rich Text Format to postdoc-society@beatson.gla.ac.uk with the subject header 'abstract-SBPRC2019-your name'

  • Name the attachment in the following manner:
    e.g. newton_isaac_abstract.rtf

  • Abstracts will not be proof-read. Text will be reproduced exactly as presented.

  • At the top of the abstract please include the TITLE OF THE ABSTRACT, the PRESENTING AUTHOR'S NAME underlined, Institute/ University and contact address. It must be typed in single spacing. 300 words is the absolute maximum acceptable, excluding title and authors, but including references. If the abstract is too long, text will be omitted.

  • Do not include diagrams as they cannot be reproduced.

  • If you have any problems with submission please contact the conference administrator directly at postdoc-society@beatson.gla.ac.uk
