Event description

Description

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect in May 2018 marking the biggest change in data protection law for 20 years. The new Regulation will impose many legal obligations on organisations that control or process data. The financial penalties for non-compliance are substantial so it is absolutely vital that your organisation is fully prepared as early as possible.

Come to this session to learn how to keep your organisation safe, secure and compliant. Follow our 6 practical Steps to start getting your organisation ready for the change. We will cover:

1. Data reviews

2. Identifying data types

3. Planning data

4. Data cleansing

5. Data storage

6. Breach response plan

This session is free to attend for businesses with a base in Mendip - please email kelly.knight if you are uncertain as to whether or not you can attend. Ticket numbers per business are not restricted so you can bring as many members of your team you need.

CAR PARKING - please note there is no car parking on site. The nearest Pay & Display car park is 'Southside Car Park' - off of Vestry Road. Check the location and charges here

This event is delivered in partnership with Get up to Speed – fully funded workshops and talks to help boost digital skills and share the benefits of superfast broadband.
