6 week course
Want to learn how to draw from a local accomplished artist? Come along and learn how to draw and some creative drawing techniques in this 6-week course by Sue Searle, owner of the Oak Room, Tiverton’s largest art gallery and arts hub.
This gentle introduction to drawing and techniques will help enable you to work on your own projects and gain some confidence to get drawing. Drawing is the foundation for most other art techniques. See below for more details of the course content.
The course will run on Saturday afternoon – 2pm-4pm from 10th September until 15th October.
Cost only £75 for 12 hours tuition! That’s only £6.25 per hour including materials! If you have your own materials (drawing pencils (4B, 2B), charcoal, A2 drawing pad) then the price is £65. OAP’s are £65 including materials or £55 if you bring your own.

Week 2 – Still life – fruit, vegetables, shells, pottery, wood etc
Week 3 – Perspective and buildings
Week 4 – Drawing from life – people and animals
Week 5 – Drawing with colour
Week 6 – Using other drawing mediums – charcoal, graphite, pen and ink.
Sue Searle has over 40 years’ experience of drawing and she has developed her skill experimenting with a range of techniques which she will share with you. Sue particularly enjoys drawing wildlife and life drawing. Sue is an award-winning trainer and you will enjoy learning new techniques and practicing for yourself under her guidance.
