Sing four classic songs from The Sound of Music as we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the record breaking The Sound of Music album in a fun event for everyone in New Malden Station Car Park.

Why?
The Sound of Music soundtrack album was produced and distributed by Decca Records in New Malden in 1965. It topped the UK album charts for 70 weeks in total between 1965 and 1968!
To celebrate the legacy of this amazing music heritage we will be holding a mass singing event followed by a singalong film screening of the original film.
Come along and sing 4 songs from the original soundtrack:
- Sound of Music
- Do Re Mi
- My Favourite Things
- Climb Every MountainDress as a nun for the performances and lets see if we can create the largest gathering of nuns celebrating The Sound of Music (or come along as another character from the film)
Timings on the day
- 13:30 Gather at New Malden Methodist Church before processing to New Malden station with marshalls
- 14:00 1st performance
- 14:15 Break between performances
- 14:45 2nd performance
- 15:00 Thank you and farewell
Dress code
To celebrate 60th anniversary of Sound of Music being pressed at Decca Records, we’re inviting everyone to dress as a nun for the performances. You can change at the church when you arrive, but please be aware there is no storage for bags.
If you would rather not dress as a nun, please feel free to dress as another character from the film, or wear all black.
