60s & 70s Group monthly online talk: David Hepworth on his latest book
Event Information
About this event
On 7 February 1964, The Beatles landed at JFK airport in New York where they were met by 3,000 fans. Two days later they appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show. Thus the 'British Invasion' was launched. The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Kinks, The Animals and many more soon followed in their wake.
The writer and broadcaster David Hepworth latest book Overpaid, Oversexed and Over There: How a Few Skinny Brits with Bad Teeth Rocked America describes the impact of the British Invasion, predicated on the proposition that the arrival of The Beatles was 'the opening shot in a cultural revolution nobody predicted'.
The 1960s & 70s group have invited David to talk about his book at their next meeting. We think that this will be of interest to many other members of CEDU3A and so we are inviting all members to join us online for this talk.
