About this Event

The Corrosion Science Division of the Institute of Corrosion (ICorr) is pleased to invite you to the University of Southampton for the 61st Corrosion Science Symposium (CSS). The CSS has been held annually since its launch in 1960 by Prof. L.L. Shreir. It is an ideal opportunity for students and younger researchers in corrosion science from across Europe to congregate, discuss their work, share ideas and, above all, enjoy themselves in a stimulating environment. Contributions are invited in all areas of corrosion science and engineering.

The U.R. Evans award for lifetime achievement in corrosion will be presented during the symposium.

With the alternative arrangements being online this year we plan a programme of several sessions staggered through the week. Each session will focus on a series of short (5-10 min) presentations with extended abstracts made available beforehand. The sessions will be immediately followed by more in-depth online open forum discussion with the presenters.

An initial call for abstracts is open until Friday 17th July. The abstracts will be reviewed by the Corrosion Science Division committee. Accepted abstracts will be notified with the requirement for an extended abstract submission by the submitting author before Friday 28th August.
