Do I need to wear a wetsuit?

Accepted Answer

Wetsuits are optional. You are welcome to come in and out of the water (we will clock you in and out) to try different swim kits to suit you for Race day. 
A good fitting wetsuit can help with buoyancy, body alignment, help retain body temperature thus increasing confidence.

Question 2

Can I try out my Tri Suit?

Accepted Answer

Of course! The lake temperature may still be cooler at the time of the practice session so perhaps consider wearing your tri suit under a wetsuit if you have one, to keep you a bit warmer and give you buoyancy. This session is here for you to experiment what equipment works for you.

I don't have a wetsuit but think I would like to wear one...?

We have partnered with Tri Wet Suit Hire offering a hassle free wet suit hiring process. Wet suits for kids & adults of all sizes! After your hire period you have the option to return or buy. All you need to do is email us to request your exclusive savings code* & for more information.

Question 4

Do I have to swim front crawl?

Accepted Answer

You are welcome to swim breaststroke, front crawl, doggy paddle :) but please no butterfly or back stroke.

If you are in need of assistance, please float on your back and the safety kayak will be with you shortly.

Question 5

Do I need a tow float?

Accepted Answer

Ideally yes please, this helps us easily spot you from the Safety Kayak and for the Shore Safety team to regularly do number checks.
