Event description

Description

Aim: To gain an understanding of the basic principles of black and white film development and to come away with the skills and confidence to develop your own film.

Suitable for: Any age, a basic understanding of photography will be needed, however no experience of film development is required.

Method: Each session will involve classroom instruction in my relaxed style, including demonstrations and plenty of opportunity to put new skills into practice with hands-on practical experience.

Structure: The 'Introduction to Developing 35mm Black and White Film' workshop is a 2.5-hour session at my studio in Thornton-Cleveleys. With a maximum of only four attendees there's plenty of opportunity to learn at your own pace and put the theory into practice. We will look at the process of development, the chemicals and equipment required and any recommendations I may have. Everyone attending will have access to a Facebook group for support and to ask questions.

Materials: The chemicals required for film development on the evening, together with an archival negative storage sheet will be provided and included in the price of the workshop. The use of my equipment will be made available during the workshop.
