6th Form Computing Conference

The 6th form conference is aimed at students studying Computing related courses at A-level (or equivalent qualifications). The day is hosted by the CAS Regional Centre East Midlands and the Computer Science department at Nottingham Trent University.

The day will begin with an introduction by the Computing related courses students can take at University, led by Dr Joanna Hartley, Principal Lecturer at NTU and will provide students with an insight into the different options available to them

Students and staff will be able to opt into four sessions led by lecturers in Computing, that have been chosen to provide students with an insight into some topics of Computing. There will be up to six sessions to choose from (these may be subject to change)including:

Introduction to Artificial Intelligence.
Object Oriented Programming.
Programming Games.
App Creation.
The NTU robots.

Students and teachers will need to bring their own refreshments for the day.

Places are limited due to limited space in the rooms. There are only 80 student places available - we have increased this from 60 due to demand.
Please book the number of tickets you require for all of your students (e.g. if you are bringing 10 students then please book 10 tickets under your name. We expect two members of staff per school, so if you will bring more, or less, staff members please e-mail us so we can accurately judge the numbers.
