We are delighted to announce the 7th event of the UCL Cross-Disciplinary Network on Soft Materials. This year the event will take place at the Roberts Building (Faculty of Engineering) of UCL, and will comprise three plenary talks, a poster session and a social event.
Like in previous years, our aim is to bring together UCL researchers that are interested in soft materials, ranging from fundamental science to practical applications, in order to discuss recent innovations and future directions of the field in an open atmosphere and help build the community and collaboration opportunities across the UCL soft materials researchers. This forum has been successful in nurturing collaborations and grant applications in the past and we believe it represents an important enabler for UCL in the field.
We expect participants from across UCL, including the Faculties of Brain Sciences, Built Environment, Engineering Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical and Physical Sciences and Medical Sciences. Every year, students and colleagues from 20 different departments and institutes across UCL sign up to attend this event.
We welcome submissions for short talks or poster presentations by PhD students, PDRAs and early-career lectures. The best short talk and the best poster will receive a prize sponsored by the RSC journal Soft Matter.
If you have any questions, please email d.lopezbarreiro [at] ucl.ac.uk.
We look forward to welcoming you all to the event.
Kind regards,
UCL Soft Materials Network Management Team
