A warm welcome to the 7th Uganda Convention in UK - 16th Sept 2017

It is with great pleasure that I am inviting you to the 7th Uganda Investment Convention UK (UCUK). The one-day event is themed “Partnering for Wealth Creation”. It will be held at the Troxy in London on Saturday, 16th September 2017.   This year’s UCUK is expected to include a strong business-to-business dimension, with a large number of exporters and importers from Uganda, United Kingdom and mainland Europe industry players from diversity sectors.  The Convention is expected to feature a selected line up of distinguished speakers and panellists from diverse businesses and organisations across East Africa.

Convention UK Investment Summit is a unique platform that welcomes over 1000 delegates annually including representatives of Government, the Private Sector, Diasporas and as well as Entrepreneurs and international business community experts to discuss ventures, investment opportunities and ways to achieve trade-led inclusive sustainable development through Entrepreneurship, SME competitiveness, employment and economic growth.

Government officials from both UK and Uganda will participate and dialogue at the highest level. Discussions will centre on key FDI to Uganda, UK Exports, and boosting imports from Uganda and business Partnerships, access to finance, and flagship bankable projects in priority sectors like: Natural Resources, Agribusiness, Tourism, Health, Power and Critical Infrastructure.

How to get here:

By rail: Oh so simple. Troxy is 200 metres from Limehouse Station, which is on the DLR and the C2C line from Fenchurch Street Station to Essex. When arriving at Limehouse leave via the Bekesbourne Street exit. You can pick up the DLR line from Bank (Central/Circle/Northern and Waterloo & City lines), Tower Hill (Circle/District Line) and Canary Wharf (Jubilee Line) Limehouse is only two stops (6 minutes) from these three stations.

By bus: The following buses either go past Troxy or serve the local area.

No 15 (Trafalgar Square to Blackwall Station) No 115 (Aldgate to East Ham) No 135 (Old Street to Crossharbour) D3 (Bethnal Green to Cross Harbour) N15 (Trafalgar Square to Romford) N550 (Trafalgar Square to Canning Town) N551 (Trafalgar Square to Gallions Reach).

For up-to-date news about London’s trains and buses visit the Transport for London website or text TFL to 60835

By car: We cannot tell a lie, Commercial Road is not a parking paradise. We have red lines, not yellow, so you’ll be clamped, ticketed or towed – all of which will ruin your night out. It is possible to drop off and pick up in Caroline Street down the side of the building.

Local streets have residents’ parking zones and we like our neighbours so would ask anyone looking for a parking space to respect them. There is a 24-hour car park next to Cineworld at West India Quay, run by Indigo Park Services. From there, you can get a taxi to us or catch the DLR at West India Quay (two stops).

The nearest hotel, the Holiday Inn Express at Limehouse, is just 300 metres away and has secure parking. We recommend booking in advance at You can take a chance and turn up on the day but you’re not guaranteed a space that way.
