Join us for an 8 Week Creative Nonfiction Writing Course at Gloucester Road Books!

Dive into the art of crafting compelling true stories, blending factual narrative with the creative flair of fiction. Whether you're a seasoned writer or a beginner, you will be guided through techniques in a range of non-fiction writing including memoir, personal essays, literary journalism, biography, feature and review writing, and writing for Substack and other blogging platforms.

The course will run from Wednesday 1 October - Wednesday 19 November.

Taught in a small group workshop with a maximum of 10 participants, you will have the unique opportunity to share your writing each week in a supportive and friendly environment.

About your tutor

Holly Rigby is a writer and university lecturer, who has written for The Guardian, The Independent and the Tes. She has also appeared as a political commentator on current affairs programming on the BBC, Sky News and Channel 4. Her book Miss: when a teacher breaks the rules about the ten years she spent as an Inner London English teacher will be published by Repeater Books in 2025. She is currently a Lecturer at City University in Narrative Nonfiction Writing.

Course Details:

The course will run from Wednesday 1 October - Wednesday 19 November., from 6 - 8pm, and is hosted at Bristol’s Gloucester Road Books.

The price of the course is £375 for all eight weeks. .
