8 Week Gashtrays Ceramics Course

8 week handbuilding and throwing course for body positive creations!

Whether you’re a beginner or experienced with clay, this course is perfect for anyone interested in developing pottery skills for body positive creations. I’ll run you through the whole process from start to finish, of how to make your very own Gashtrays inspired functional dining set.

This class is a mix of closely guided tutoring and self directed development so you can adapt the Gashtrays techniques to build whatever your freaky hearts desire.
This course covers both hand building AND wheel throwing techniques!

• Enjoy a weekly WEDNESDAYS sculpt and chin wag sesh at the new Cernamic pottery studio in Dalston!
• We'll be using stoneware clays and glazes!
• BYOBAS (bring your own beverages and snacks 💕)
• Just 12 spots available.
• This September-November course is the perfect activity to keep them fingers busy moving into spring.
  
  Dates: WEDNESDAYS. 17/9, 24/9, 1/10, 8/10, 15/10, 22/10, 29/10, 5/11
  Time: 19:00-21:00 (+ 20 minute clean up)

Course Structure

• Week 1 - Handbuilding essentials (slab, coil, press molds) + genital portraits.
• Week 2- Practicing the fundamentals of throwing, and how to make it kinky!
• Week 3- Trimming thrown work made in week 2.
  
• Week 4-6 - Free-form making time!
  Using the essential hand building and throwing techniques you’ve learnt so far, Hani will support you through making whatever freaky creations your heart desires! A nipple encrusted dinner set? Willy vase? Butt plug incense burner? Whatever tickles your pickle!
  Each week you’ll continue to learn new techniques that spark inspiration and help grow your skill set.
  
• Week 7-8 - Underglazing and glazing
  Learn the painting decorating techniques used to spice up your creations. You’ll be using all the materials necessary for making functional, dishwasher safe, stoneware pottery.
  
• Week 9 (OPTIONAL) - Pick up dinner party 🎈*Date tbc*
  Celebrate our time together and christen your creations as a collective!
  To say thank you for your support, Hani invites you to her Gashtrays warehouse for a BBQ to be enjoyed on your new crockery!
  This will be casual dining and involvement in optional.
