Join artist and printmaker Victoria Willmott in this 8 week course dedicated to Relief Printmaking. This course offers an exciting opportunity to explore a range of techniques including Multiblock prints, reduction Lino printing and Jigsaw printing to produce colourful original prints.
The course takes place at Bristol Print Collective new studio space located in the first floor of Centrespace Studios. With a large scale printmaking press, workshop benches for course participants and natural light.Whether you're new to printmaking or looking to expand your skills, this course encourages creativity, curiosity, and playful experimentation.
What we will cover on the course:Tools, Materials & Printing MethodsGet to grips with essential tools and materials, experiment with mark making with lino. Print with a variety of methods, your tutor will share tips on how to achieve desired results hand burnishing and using a press.
Multi Block Printing - Two Colour
You'll be introduced to multi-block printing to learn how to create layered images using two separate blocks for each colour.
Reduction Lino
Explore the exciting challenge of reduction printing, carving and printing in stages from a single block to build up your design.
Jigsaw Printing
This technique will allow you to carve and print multicoloured prints from one block.Each session will build your confidence in design, carving, and inking while giving you the freedom to develop your own style.
You'll leave with a portfolio of prints and a solid foundation in relief printmaking.
Please note there is no session on the 28th October as it is half term.
