Mindfulness course, Oxford, Starts February 4th 2015
The course comprises of two elements:
8 Evening sessions, Wednesday evenings, 4th February - 25th March 2015 6:00 -8:00 pm, at Restore, Manzil Way, off Cowley Road, Oxford, OX4 1YH
A Whole Day of Mindfulness Practice, Saturday 14th March, 2015
10 am - 4 pm in central Oxford.
Both the evening sessions and the full day of practice are included in the course fee. The Day of Mindfulness Practice is an important element of the programme. Please, make sure you can attend it when booking on the course.
Mindfulness can help us to manage stress and anxiety in a positive way, to cope with the pace and demands of modern life and to feel happier and healthier. The practices are simple to learn and can become part of every day activities such as eating, walking and breathing. During this 8-Week Programme, you will gradually and gently be led to the various exercises and meditations that will teach you to gain control of your thoughts and emotions and live in the present moment.
The course will be based on the book co-authored by Mark Williams and Danny Penman “Mindfulness - a Practical Guide to Finding Peace in a Frantic World”, and led by mindfulness teachers Alicia Gardner and Sophie Roberts
- We will be using the book “Mindfulness a Practical Guide to Finding Peace in a Frantic World” throughout the course and participants are asked to buy a copy before the course starts. If you buy an electronic edition of the book then do make sure that the audio tracks are included as we will be using these throughout the programme
- Home practice is an important part of the course and we suggest that you plan to allow 30 minutes each day for this
- The whole day of practice is an essential part of the programme so please make sure that you can come when you book
- The evening sessions will be held at Restore while the Day of Practice will be held at The Friends' Meeting House
