Join us for this life-changing eight-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction programme.

Mindfulness is about training your attention to be present for all moments of your life: the good, the bad and the ugly. This helps us to appreciate the simple things that may otherwise pass by unnoticed and it helps us to navigate our way through change and uncertainty with poise.

The course runs on these Mondays: 25 Sept, 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30 Oct and 6 & 13 Nov from 10am - 12:30pm. There is also an all-day session on Sunday 5 Nov (10:30am - 4:30pm). Please note that you must be able to attend the first session.

A guidebook and audio recordings are provided to support you with the course homework, which includes 30 minutes of daily meditation practice.

Spaces are limited to 12 participants.

What is mindfulness?

It's quite tricky to write about what mindfulness is; the easiest way to know is to experience it. Mindfulness invites us to wake up and experience our life without judging it. This doesn’t mean that you stop having judgemental thoughts. Rather, you begin to question whether those judgements are indeed facts. It offers a way of responding to life, so that rather than being constantly pushed and pulled by it, we can find ways of meeting our experience with more balance and ease.

I’ve never meditated before, is that OK?

Absolutely! This programme is suitable for you if:

  • You’re curious about mindfulness but have never tried it.

  • You would like to deepen your existing meditative practice.

  • You have previously completed an MBSR/MBCT course and would like to “top up” your mindfulness toolkit.

How do I meditate? What do I bring? What do I wear?

Full guidance on how to meditate will be given in each class. Chairs are provided, please bring any other equipment, e.g. cushions or a meditation bench that you may require to be comfortable.

Please bring a yoga mat or thick blanket to lie on each week, along with any cushions you need to support your head and/or knees when lying on your back on the floor.

There is no need to wear anything specific, just come as you are.

What's the cancellation policy?

Cancellations received less than two weeks before the course start date are liable to a 50% cancellation fee. No refunds will be made once the course has begun.

What are my transport options for getting to and from the event?

There is plenty of parking space. If you are coming by public transport, the Community Centre is within walking distance of Bat & Ball station.
