This course uses a combination of mindfulness meditation, body awareness, mindful movement  and resarched wellbeing tools and techniques to help you become happier, more mindful and less stressed.

In recent years this course has been the subject of controlled clinical research which has found beneficial effects, including stress reduction, relaxation, and improvements to quality of life. While MBSR has its roots in spiritual teachings, the program itself is secular.

This substantial program is shown to improve emotional wellbeing and be an effective treatment for anxiety or low-mood difficulties. It can also be helpful for those looking for an 'edge' in their work or creative performance. It is not only about elevation of low-mood it's actually life enhancing practice for everyone that increases confidence, focus and happiness.

Mindfulness helps us to; open to life rather than struggle against it, respond to challenges rather than react, show compassion towards ourselves rather than judgement and appreciation rather than negativity - allowing us to feel more connected, open, and more deeply alive.

I am delighted to be offering this MBCT for life course – it is very similar to the 8-week course I’ve been teaching for the past seven years – but it has been updated via the latest research and best practice via the Oxford Mindfulness Centre. I am also teaching this new program as part of the Oxford MYRAID research study involving schools across the UK including Northern Ireland.

This is a certified course with 27 hours CPD for those of you who need that sort of thing! It is also a pre-requiste for any mindfulness teacher training you are interested in, including mindfulness for children.

N.B -  as well as the 8 weekly 2.5 hour sessions this programme also includes an all-day retreat TBC. It also includes a comprehensive, supportive 125 page file and audio tracks for home practice.  Home practice is an integral part of the course.Please note before you pay a deposit for this course you must communicate with me and fill out an application form - thank you. Bridgeen Rea-Kaya

Bridgeen is a pioneer of mindfulness and mindful self-compassion classes for the general public in Northern Ireland. She is the only person teaching here to have a Masters in Mindfulness Based Approaches (Msc) from Bangor University, Wales. She is also the only accredited and trained Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) Teacher.  She a qualified yoga teacher (YFNI), Reiki Master and an all round lover of the slow down movement. Bridgeen follows all the good practice guidelines for mindfulness teachers you can see her official Be Mindful listing here . She is also a member of the UK Network for Mindfulness-Based Teacher Training Organisations and the Mindfulness Teachers Network Ireland. Bridgeen is also a qualified mindfulness supervisor.

A proud member of Thich Nhat Hanh's Order of Interbeing with the dharma name: True Profound Happiness. She has studied extensively with the international Plum Village mindfulness community since first visiting in July 2005.

Bridgeen has been Centra's Mindfulness Ambassador since 2017 and an associate trainer for the HSC. She lead the Action for Happiness course 'Exploring What Matters' a first for Northern Ireland, in summer 2018.

Bridgeen has an MBA and a BSc in Communications, Advertising and Marketing. Bridgeen's foray into the holistic business began in 2005 when she began teaching yoga.  Immeasurable Minds was originally a part-time business but she gave up her Civil Service job and went full-time in January 2014. She got married in 2017 and added Kaya to her surname to honour her lovely husband. 

Her personal motto is "There's no need to run, strive or struggle: just be.'
