8 week Mindfulness MBSR Course
Thu, 27 Apr 2017, 17:30 – Thu, 15 Jun 2017, 19:30 BST
The vast majority of people don’t start a course in Mindfulness because they have just fallen in love, won the lottery or received a job promotion. We tend to become interested in this growing, science-backed topic when we want to find a pathway to a life of greater happiness, reduced stress and better relationships. We may also seek understanding of the causes of our physical and psychological suffering to prevent future recurrence. Mindfulness practices can provide this pathway and this is increasingly validated by science.
Mindfulness is a life skill, which will enhance your experience of living daily. It is not a substitute for psychotherapy or counseling, if you are not sure whether mindfulness is suitable for you please consult your GP.
We sometimes feel as if we are sleep walking through life, life is just happening to us? You may feel that your connection with others is strained? You are easily annoyed by trivial things? You may be feeling stressed at some point of everyday and would like to be able to rid yourself of those feelings and anxious thoughts. Then learning mindfulness might be right for you.
Mindfulness is all about learning to direct our attention to our experience as it unfolds, moment by moment, with open-minded curiosity and acceptance. Rather than worrying about what has happened in the past or might happen in the future.
Mindfulness training has been proven time and again to improve health and wellbeing. It helps us think more clearly, perform better, feel calmer, less anxious and less depressed.
Sessions are practical and interactive, you learn by experience. Each session is approximately 2 hours.
In just 8 weeks on the MBSR (Mindfulness Breathing Stress Reduction) Course you will learn the basics of mindfulness and be well on your way to embedding this life affirming practice.
