This is eight weeks art course (21hours), every Thursday (4th, 11th, 18th, 25th September, 2nd, 9th, 16th 23rd October) from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

During the first half of the course we will be taking a structured approach to drawing and painting the human face. Faces are one of the most engaging subjects to draw and paint. We will be exploring the shapes and the character of the human face, the proportional differences and the individual, unique expression of personality. You will have the choice to do a full-face portrait, a three-quarter view or a profile. Please feel free to bring a good quality photo of a relative or a friend should you wish to draw and paint a familiar face. However, should you wish to do a self portrait you will be able to do so as well.We will be exploring the human figure, learning the anatomy, the structure of the body and the proportions of the human form. You can also do a portrait of your pet. Please bring in a photo that you would like to paint

You will have the opportunity to explore and learn to paint with oils, however if you don't feel confident with oils, you will be able to paint with acrylics instead.During the second half of the course we will be drawing and painting a still-life, where we will be learning about composition and cover the basics of drawing a still-life. Again you will have the choice to paint with oils or acrylics.
