Description

This complete beginners Introduction to Pottery course gives you a grounding in both throwing on the potter's wheel and the main handbuilding tecniques along with a workshop in how to glaze.

There will be 4 weeks on the wheel learning the basics of throwing, centreing, turning bases and pulling and attaching handles. You will also be looking at several handbuilding techniques such as pinching pots, coiling and building with slabs over another 4 weeks. All your work is fired over two weeks after which, you can come along to glaze everything you have made. The tutors guide you through every step of the process encouraging and suggesting ways of improving your work.

All your materials and firings are included in the cost. We supply all equipment and aprons.

Cost: £325 inclusive of all materials and firings.

Dates: September 11th, 18th, 25th, October 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th 7-9.15pm + 2.15 hour glazing session once all your work has been fired.

Pregnancy: This course is not suitable for pregnant women.

REFUNDS: *Please note that if you cancel 10 full working days in advance then you will get a full refund. After this period and before the course starts you will only get a 50% refund if someone else can be found to replace you. There are no refunds after the start of your course. Please note that all refunds are minus Eventbrite fees which are non-refunadable. Cancellations may be subject to an admin fee of £15. Catch-up classes are charged at £40 per session.
