About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

Sound therapy facilitates a deep state of relaxation where we can access self-healing, undo unhelpful patterns and establish new ways of being. Working with intentions, self-reflection, guided visualisation and coaching methods, sound healing sessions can act as a catalyst for personal transformation.

Katie uses a range of instruments including crystal singing bowls, chimes, gong, percussion and drum to guide you into a deep relaxation, aided by intention-setting for your desired outcome. You can continue to work on your intention at home through simple sound practices that Katie will share with you.

What is included in this workshop?

Each workshop follows a specific theme. We will begin with an exploration of the theme and you will be guided to set an intention for the sound session. Katie will talk you through how sound can support you in your process of transformation, healing and change.
You will then be invited to find a comfortable position, either seated or lying down.

Katie will guide you through a meditation and invite you to connect with your intention. This will flow into a relaxing soundscape. At the end of the session there’ll be an opportunity to share your experiences if you’d like to, and tea will be available. Katie will share ways of continuing to work with your intention at home.

Benefits:
Sound therapy enables us to reach deep states of relaxation (Alpha and Theta brainwave states) by inducing the natural relaxation response. This allows the body and mind to release tension, undo unhelpful patterns and reach a state of balance, both physically and energetically. It can help the body to repair, restore and rejuvenate; reduce mind chatter; release stress; reduce anxiety and depression; improve sleep and boost energy levels. It has been shown to reduce heart rate and blood pressure, boost the immune system, reduce experience of pain and speed up recovery times. Coupled with intention and self-reflection, sound therapy is powerful tool for healing, transformation and change.

What to bring:
Wear warm, comfortable clothing.
You may like to bring a blanket to keep cosy, as your temperature will drop as you relax.
A cushion or pillow for your head, and maybe another one to place under your knees.
Yoga mats are available, or bring your own.
