Actions and Detail Panel
90 minutes to the future
Thu 3 November 2016, 10:00 – 11:30 GMT
What are the challenges and opportunities that will be facing marketers in 2017 and onwards?
How will the media landscape change?
What is going to disrupt how you communicate with your target audience?
What is the must have platform that could potentially become yesterday’s news?
The Scottish Government is hosting this session with Futurologist Dan Calladine (or to use his official title - Head of Media Futures for Carat Global). Dan has over 20 years’ experience in consultancies, tech companies and agencies, and is regularly interviewed and quoted in media like The Drum and Retail Week.
His position at Carat gives him a unique insight into what media owners have planned for the short-term and their longer-term direction of travel. Combine that with Carat’s research into consumer attitudes and how they are responding, this gives Dan a unique insight into what the future may hold.
Dan is still working on the list of trends for 2017+ but as a taster it will include:
Live Video – on Facebook and beyond
Brands as content creators
Automated Chatbots in Instant Messenger services
‘Speed’ and mobile sites
Over the course of this hour Dan will take the audience on a marketing and media journey into the future.
Sharing that all important information that will enable you to ensure your plans and ambitions are future-friendly.
Who is the session for?
This session is open to in-house marketers or policy makers within the public and voluntary sectors.
