999 Contact Handler Discovery Session

This session via Zoom is aimed at anyone interested in becoming a Contact Handler at West Mercia Police.

Our Contact Handlers deal with a wide range of emergency and non-emergency incidents 24/7, 365 days a year. They are the first point of contact for people in distress, fear, anger or even in danger, but our Contact Handlers deal with them calmly, quickly and professionally, every time - taking accurate details, assessing the level of urgency required, giving them the right information and potentially making what could be a life or death decision.

We now have a number of vacancies for the next generation of Contact Handlers who will make a difference for the people of Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin. If you are interested in becoming a Contact Handler, join our Discovery Session on 06 July from 6 – 7pm.

The Discovery Session will cover:

• Information around the job role

• Details of the training schedule

• Career journey testimonies from our current Contact Handlers

• A quiz with “what would you do” style questions to see whether you would be suitable for the job

• A Q&A session.
