About this event
We are delighted to welcome you to St Thomas More Catholic Comprehensive, a school which strives to live out our mission statement of providing the all-inclusive development of each individual within a loving community which is welcoming, safe, forgiving, positive; challenging each to follow Christ in serving others. Our community truly embodies the Charism of embracing service, igniting faith and shaping tomorrow.
Joining us at one of STM’s Open Days will offer you the opportunity to fully experience the school’s calm, welcoming atmosphere which visitors so often reference following a visit. Your dedicated guide will accompany you on your tour where you will gain an insight into school life; your guide will happily answer questions about their own experience, both as a learner and member of this truly special community. The Headteacher will speak to you during your visit and an admission pack will be available for you to take away.
You will visit a school where our young people have the opportunity to achieve excellent outcomes, clearly evidenced from the strong academic results we have obtained for many years; the school is currently placed in the top 3-4% of secondary schools in the country for Progress. Moreover, our enrichment programme is broad; STM students grasp every opportunity to develop new skills, often imparting their own skills and knowledge to support others. We know you will gain a tangible sense of what being a member of the STM community is like for our young people and their families. We are blessed with the strongest support from our own parish, Christchurch, in addition to the many other local parishes where our families worship.
Our website offers a wealth of information, please see the Our School section of our website: www.stmcomprehensive.org
Important Information
(Please ensure that you read ALL information BEFORE visiting the school)
You are invited to reserve a maximum of ONE ticket per family, which will allow access for 1 child and 2 adults. All children must be accompanied by at least one adult aged 18 or over. For families with children of a multiple birth e.g. twins/triplets, please book one ticket only - two adults only may accompany the children.
Our Open Days are reserved for families with children in Year 6 only and Year 5 children who hold an EHCP (you will be asked to confirm your child's date of birth and current school when registering). You will not be permitted to access the school with additional children or other family members.
Our ticketed system is to avoid overcrowding and to ensure that every family has the opportunity to visit the school. We kindly ask that families only attend one Open Day session (or one Open Evening session.) We reserve the right to cancel tickets where multiple bookings are made in the same name.
Please ensure you have the QR code ready to display when you arrive at school. This will be emailed with your booking confirmation from Eventbrite.
We operate a no ticket, no entry policy and reserve the right to refuse admission if you are unable to present confirmation of your booking.
In the event that you can no longer attend the session you originally booked, please cancel the ticket and rebook for a different session.
Please do not arrive earlier than the stated time to avoid unnecessary congestion along the footpath for pedestrians.
Please ensure you arrive by the allocated time slot. We reserve the right to refuse admission if the Open Day tour has already begun at the time of your arrival.
Please note that the school has no parking on site. We ask you to show consideration to our neighbours by ensuring you do not park across the drives of local residents or in locations marked as private property/residents only. Please leave enough time to park and walk to the school. Remember you may have to park some distance away from the school.
Parents are encouraged to use public transport where possible.
Blue badge holders should contact the school ahead of the event by emailing enquiries@stmcomprehensive.org
If you would like to discuss specific SEND needs of your child, please email Mrs Wren in our SEND department at nwren@stmcomprehensive.org (enter SEND Secondary Transfer 2025 in the subject line of your email.)
