Description

The British School of Upholstered Furniture are offering a five day course with the talented Armand Verdier on the basics of French traditional upholstery techniques. Trained at the école Boulle, Armands work is synonymous with crisp unfaltering execution.

Students will learn the processes of the upholstery of a "Tabouret Carré". A low stool which is often the first item produced by French upholsterers in training. The stool is then effectively used as a tool, being sat on in the french tradition of working with a chair seated on the ground rather than on trestles or a bench.

Students will leave with a footstool. All materials, fillings and frames are supplied. Students are expected to bring their own top covering fabric should they complete the stool in the time allowed.
