A 6 Week Guided Programme to Rebuild Your Life After Cancer

You’ve finished cancer treatment, but it doesn’t always feel like the end.

We know from experience that life after cancer can be unexpectedly hard. The world expects you to bounce back, but inside you might feel lost, low, or unsure of what’s next.

You’re not alone and you don’t have to figure it out on your own.

Why This Programme Exists

Steph, the founder of Life after Cancer, created this programme after her own experience with cancer.

Years after treatment, she was still navigating long-term effects - freezing her eggs, potential early menopause, and the emotional toll that doesn’t end when treatment does. She began running peer support groups for others who felt lost, isolated or overwhelmed - and something unexpected happened.

About three months in, the group began to shift. They didn’t want to keep talking about cancer - they wanted to start moving forward. They wanted to figure out who they were now, what mattered and what came next.

Together, they created this 6 week programme - designed to give people what often feels like a luxury: space to pause, reconnect with themselves, and begin rebuilding life after cancer in a way that reflects who they are now.

The Programme

This 6 week programme is tailored to the needs of each group - no two groups are the same.

It offers structured support led by trained coaches who have had cancer themselves and truly understand the challenges of life after treatment.

In a small, supportive group, you’ll reconnect with yourself, rebuild confidence, and start actively rebuilding a life that reflects who you are now.

We’ve been running this programme since 2018, helping people feel seen, supported, and more like themselves again. One participant shared, “This should honestly be recommended to every patient who’s experienced cancer.”

Programme Structure

The programme is delivered through 6 workshops over 6 weeks, including 6 interactive coaching workbooks to help you capture your learnings and revisit them in the future. You’ll also meet a small group of up to 12 other wonderful adults who’ve experienced cancer too.

We hold a short 15 minute call the day before the programme begins, to help you feel settled and know what to expect before week one.

Workshop 1: Identity & Values: After a life-changing event, your beliefs, values, and priorities often shift. In this workshop, you’ll reassess your identity, clarify what’s important to you, and create a personal self-care plan. You’ll leave with clarity about your needs and actions to support your wellbeing.

Workshop 2: Present State & Visioning: Post-cancer, your pre-diagnosis goals may no longer align with who you are now. We’ll assess your current state, envision your future, and identify areas for change. You’ll gain clarity on your life’s direction and a vision for life after treatment.

Workshop 3: Actions & Accountability: Using your vision, we’ll develop a practical action plan. You’ll break down goals into daily tasks and be paired with an accountability buddy to help keep you on track.

Workshop 4: Stories & Reframing: We explore the stories you tell yourself and question whether they serve you. You’ll rewrite your narrative, fostering hope and new possibilities by shifting your mindset

Workshop 5: Awareness & Communication: We’ll reconnect with our bodies, map where we feel emotions, and discuss what we notice. You’ll leave with greater self-awareness and improved communication skills, both with yourself and others.

Workshop 6: Thoughts, Language & Gremlins: We’ll examine your internal dialogue and language, recognising how words impact your self-perception. You’ll learn to manage inner critics and practice being kinder to yourself.

About Life after Cancer

Life after Cancer was founded to support adults navigating life beyond cancer treatment. We understand that while treatment may end, the emotional and psychological impact often continues. Our services are created and delivered by trained coaches who have personal experience of cancer, combining professional coaching expertise with lived understanding.

We also offer expert-led sessions that provide practical solutions for key post-cancer challenges, including fear of recurrence, fatigue, sleep difficulties, and "chemo brain."

Life after Cancer was created by Steph Davies, an ICF-trained coach, NLP Practitioner, and Mental Health First Aider. After completing chemotherapy for Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, Steph recognised how profoundly life can change after treatment. Life after Cancer exists to support others in shaping their lives after cancer - with greater clarity, wellbeing, and connection.
