Description

Join Richard Parker, local historic buildings specialist and passionate defender of old and forgotten buildings, for a fascinating tour of central Exeter, exploring English Architecture from the Romans to the moderns.

Learn about the Romans and Saxons in Northernhay Gardens, head down to Exeter Cathedral to explore the C13th and C14th, see the best examples of church architecture for the C15th, walk up High St for the C16th and C17th, head out to Southernhay for the C18th and finish in Queen St for the C19th. See examples of modernism in North Street.

The talk will last 2 hours. Meet at the War memorial in Northernhay Gardens at 6.30pm.

Join Richard for post walk drinks at the White Hart.

I've set up this event after working with Richard Parker for many years at Exeter Archaeology and more recently on the St Sidwell's heritage project. He's an absolute fountain of knowledge on Exeter's historic buildings, and a hugely engaging and passionate speaker. I know he'll offer an interesting, engaging and entertaining talk. Let's support our local experts and allow them to share their knowledge with others and continue to pursue an active role as ambassadors for the heritage of Exeter.
