A beginner's guide to intellectual property

Regardless of what type of business you are engaged in it is very likely that you are regularly using and possibly even creating a large amount of intellectual property. If you are an innovator or a creative you will need intellectual property to protect your original products.
This session will introduce the various areas of intellectual property and help you understand which may apply to you and your business:
• Trade marks
• Registered designs
• Know-how and Trade secrets
This session will be taken by Maria Lampert. Maria has worked in the field of intellectual property since she joined the British Library in January 1993.
Maria is a member of the British Library Research Service specialising in conducting research for fee-paying clients in the areas of intellectual property and business information. She is currently the British Library Business and IP Centre’s Intellectual Property Expert.
Please note: Latecomers will not be admitted to this seminar. No refunds will be given to latecomers, cancellations via Eventbritemay be made up to 9am on the day of the seminar.
As we do not admit latecomers, allow extra time to locate the City Business Library, if this is your first visit.
