The first annual conference for Blackpool Early Years Professionals:
"A Better Start for Blackpool".
This inaugural conference for Blackpool Early Years professionals: "A Better Start for Blackpool" will bring to life the Better Start strategy and vision through presentations and workshops delivered by expert national and international speakers in early child development, including:
Dr Alain Gregoire (Maternal Mental Health Alliance), Professor Vivette Glover (Imperial College London), Professor Pasco Fearon (University College London), Dr Nat Taylor-Kendall (Frameworks Institute, Washington DC), Dr Angela Underdown (Warwick University), Professor Barry Carpenter (University of Worcester) and Ann Rowe (Family Nurse Partnership).
You will have the opportunity to hear first hand about the latest research and developments in Early Years and find out how this can impact on your work and the services we deliver to Blackpool families. The Big Lottery will also be presenting on how this fits into a wider vision regarding transformation across the early years.
CPD points are available - please check with your professional body.

When & Where
Centre for Early Child Development
Better Start is funded by The Big Lottery and partners to deliver lasting change so that Blackpool will be a place in which families raise happy, healthy children who grow up to take pride in belonging to, and giving back to, the community.
Better Start will improve services for 0-3 year olds and their families and every new baby in Blackpool will enjoy the early care and nurture they need for healthy development and to be ready for school.
Initially we are focussing our work in the seven wards where the local community faces the greatest challenges: Bloomfield, Brunswick, Claremont, Clifton, Park, Talbot and Victoria. Linked Children's Centres are Claremont, Grange Park, Mereside, Revoe, St Cuthbert's, Talbot & Brunswick and Thames.
