Urgent action is needed to clean up our toxic air from all levels of government. On the national agenda the government has failed to act, but in our towns and cities Labour have a great opportunity to the lead the way.
From London to Liverpool, Labour cities are putting in place practical solutions and bold policy responses to tackle air pollution, despite the lack of additional funding and without any of the additional powers needed for effective action.
This public fringe event will bring together local leaders, unions and the Labour frontbench to discuss:
- What best practice can be learnt from these leading cities?
- How can more cities follow Labour’s lead?
- How can local action be used to raise the pressure on Westminster to implement a National Clean Air Act?
