About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Lardon Chase is a National Trust grassland site, part of one of the largest areas of chalk downland in the country. It has a rich chalk grassland flora and a good suite of grassland and scrub butterflies. It offers spectacular views of the woodlands and steep valley over the village of Streatley.

We will explore this fabulous site’s steep grassland slopes and areas of scrub for its summer butterflies and day-flying moths. We hope to find second-brood Adonis Blue as well as a variety of other wildlife.

Accessibility & risks: steep and strenuous slopes; rabbit holes and other trip hazards. Please check for ticks after the walk and let the leader know if you have picked up any ticks. (Tick advice)

Meet in the National Trust car park at the top of the hill.
