Event description

Description

Fauna & Flora International continues to be a leading force in global conservation efforts. With its expanding reach protecting habitats around the world, using sound research and an approach tailored to each unique conservation issue, our teams are able to help shape the way threatened animals and plants are protected. But these projects can often take years, even decades, to exhibit results. So how do we define ‘success’ in conservation, and how do we then measure it? What does successful conservation look like, and how long does it take?

Join us as we seek to answer these questions, discuss our ongoing achievements in the world of conservation, and explore what we can look for in the coming year. Tanya Cox, the Project Manager for Marine Plastics at FFI, will discuss the results of our engagement with international organisations and the UK Government to tackle the use and effects of microplastics. Dr Jenny Daltry, our Senior Conservation Biologist, will report on Redonda and the exciting progress of our efforts to restore and reinvigorate the island’s fragile ecosystem following the removal of invasive species.

This presentation is preceded by the FFI AGM. The AGM commences at 6.00pm and is free to attend. The main presentation will begin at 7.00pm, followed by a reception with complimentary drinks and food until 9.30pm.

Please note that all profits from this event will directly support FFI’s conservation work.
