Find out about the BioLearn biomimicry project, and experience hands-on activities on the farm. A family friendly day.

About this event

Biomimicry (meaning ‘to copy life’) takes us on a journey to discover the principles which makes nature a model for sustainability; a model which achieves dynamic balance, sustains the whole and provides the conditions for survival. Biomimicry offers an opportunity to explore how these principles can help tackle some of the greatest challenges facing humanity today.

The BioLearn project is an EU Erasmus+ funded project which developed curriculum linked biomimicry resources in partnership with secondary schools. The project is now coming to an end and we are pleased to be able to share some of the resources and learning.

Hosted by On The Hill, at Oxen Park Farm, this event is an opportunity to find out about the project, explore and experience the resources, and get involved with hands-on activities on the farm.

The day will be family friendly with children's activities organised and lunch provided.

The morning will consist of an overview of the project, and an exploration of the concept of biomimicry while the afternoon will offer a series of workshops designed to provide hands-on experience of a selection of the resources developed throughout the project as well as farm-specific activities.

The day is aimed at educators but will be of interest to a wide group. We encourage families to attend.

At the end of the day we will light the pizza oven and attendees will be welcome to stay to enjoy food together.

Arrival from 9am for tea and coffee and a 10am prompt start. All food and refreshments will be provided. Camping and other accommodation available nearby (please email to ask about options).
